Handfasting with Caffeina

I wrote an article about Caffeina last year, and she’s been on my mind (at least in the mornings) ever since.
Because it’s something that we share, I thought it a reasonable suggestion that our handfasting include Caffeina, and my partner agreed.
Here now is the ritual we used, not including the spontaneous bits.

Opening
The circle is cast with a sacred stirring implement or other ritual coffee tool. The men proceed into the circle deosil, M last. The women proceed into the circle deosil, F last. This puts M and F opposite each other on the perimeter. They move to meet in the center when directed by HP.

The Coffee is Prepared
Firekeeper pours boiling water into the carafe. Firekeeper has already poured the correct amount of ground coffee into the carafe.
Blessing the Rings

HP: Like all things, marriage moves in cycles. Sometimes the fires will burn brightly, and sometimes they will die down to coals and then spring up again in bright flames. Sometimes love is warm as the spring, and sometimes it becomes winter cold with troubles and disruption. By taking on the symbol of the circle, may these rings ever remind you that all things come around; to keep faith in spring while enduring winter, to never lose hope that the ashes will flame again, and that your love will be renewed.
Exchange of Rings
As rings are exchanged, each says:
I give you this ring as a symbol honoring our choice. Wherever our paths take us, I will always be traveling the long road by your side.
The long form Great Rite, Caffeinated:
M: The male holds the power and is the reservoir of power.
F: The female taps the power in him and channels it.
B: Neither one can work without the other; one without the other is incomplete.
M: The god is a god of life and death.
F: The goddess is of birth and renewal.
B: To learn you must struggle, to live you must be born, to be born you must
die; the beginning, the continuation and the end, over and over and over.
M: The sun gives forth light.
F: The moon holds it in darkness.
M: As above
F: So below
M: As the plunger is to the male.
F: So the carafe is to the female.
B: And together joined they are one in truth, for there is no greater power in all the world than that of an man and woman joined in the bonds of love.
